Saab 2000
Overview
The Saab 2000 is a very modern, high-speed turboprop. Equipped with an "all glass" flight deck (Collins Pro-Line IV), Meregrass' Saab 2000 is the first and only aircraft of its type to operate on a 135 charter certificate and is a truly unique aircraft. It seats 30 passengers in a cabin designed to accommodate 50. Consequently the seat pitch (distance between seat rows) is over 5 feet, providing more than ample legroom for even the tallest passengers. The cabin measures 6 feet in height, 7 feet in width and 55 feet in length and is equipped with a full, airliner style galley providing hot meals if desired. There is a full lavatory forward. The exterior cargo hold is a massive 300 cubic feet - supplemented by another 52 cubic feet in the interior overhead bins. The maximum payload capacity (passengers and baggage) is 7500 lbs. The interior was completely refurbished in 2013 and compares favorably with our Falcon jets. It is equipped with moving map air show display, DVD player and Sirius satellite radio with over 170 stations.
The performance of the aircraft is very impressive. It cruises at 425 mph at a max certified ceiling of 31,000 ft. and has non-stop range of over 1300 statute miles. It can operate out of airfields as short as 4000 feet, enabling flights much closer to your final destination. It is equipped with a unique "active noise control" system that produces a remarkably quiet ride.
When compared with its "competitor" turboprops and regional jets the Saab 2000 almost always "wins" - in cost, range, comfort and operational flexibility.
